When holes appear in knitwear, it's handy to know a thing or two about darning, a form of mending using yarn or embroidery thread. During an evening workshop on March 31, Sivia will teach several methods that you can use to close holes in sweaters, socks, knit caps and other garments. The same techniques are useful for mending other types of fabric as well.

Participants should bring items they'd like to darn, as well as any supplies they may have on hand such as yarn that matches the item to be mended, scissors and a darning egg or other hard item that will fit inside the garment during repair. Repair supplies and practice garments will also be available for those who need them.
