Do you have a favorite sweater, scarf, or pair of socks that’s been worn thin? Don’t toss it—darn it!

In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the age-old art of darning to repair holes in your knit and woven garments. Whether you’re new to mending or looking to refresh your skills, this class will teach you how to restore and even enhance your clothing through repair. We'll go over how to assess holes in garments, how to select and prepare your materials, invisible vs. visible darning, and how to repair common problem spots like sock heels and sweater elbows.

Hands-on practice: Bring a damaged knit or woven garment (like socks or a sweater) to use as your project base. You'll be guided through the process of darning one or more holes in your garment. You'll also have the opportunity to personalize your repairs, adding creative touches with colored thread to make your mend part of the garment’s story.

All participants will receive a darning kit to take home so you can continue your repairs!

No experience required! All tools will be provided, just bring a knit or woven garment of your choice. Option to bring extra yarn or thread you'd like to incorporate into your repair.
