​We will be in the basement room at the Leaven Community House. Parking is in the lot off 20th and street parking. 

Volunteers will be fixing broken small appliances, repairing bikes, and mending clothing!

Volunteers will be fixing small appliances, mending garments, repairing bikes, sharpening knives and tools AND repair volunteer, Margo, will be fixing outdoor gear! 

Here are examples of outdoor gear fixes:

- Zipper replacement / fixing on jackets, sleeping bags (I can troubleshoot and try to fix zipper issues but at this point fully replace sleeping bag zippers as I don't have bulk zipper lengths), and tents (same bulk thing as above but often I can fix them in other ways)

- Holes in tent bodies, floors, and rain flies, backpacks, and jackets / pants. I don't have as much experience with stretchy fabrics as I do with thicker / non stretchy ones. 

- Some strap replacement / reinforcement on backpacks & bags depending on thickness (I cannot sew through full shoulder straps but can reinforce less thick areas) 

- Leaky rainfly or rain jacket / pants seams (I cannot re-waterproof fabric that has lost its waterproofing though)

- tent poles with loose elastic

- troubleshoot & repair MSR dragonfly and whisperlite camp stoves (I would need them to bring fuel with them and we would need an outdoor area to work on this as you need to light the stove)

No tool and knife sharpening as of right now, but we will let you know if someone volunteers to help with that.
