Join us for Modern Kintsugi Repair Saturday, February 24th, 2:30pm -5:00pm.

Kintsugi (金継ぎ, gold joinery) is the Japanese craft of repairing ceramics. Fractures are no longer weak points, but beautiful elements. This philosophy is often taught as embracing imperfections in our life, the beauty of human flaws. During the 2.5-hour workshop, you will learn how to repair ceramics with the modern Kintsugi methods finishing the joints with gold powder. Bring a couple ceramic pieces. All materials will be provided to repair them. This workshop is offered on a sliding scale $40-$75.

While the traditional Kintsugi requires skills, techniques, and time, this modern method is for all skill levels 18yo & up!

This class will be taught by Emi Joyce, formerly a full-time bench jewleer and apparel designer, currently a Kintsugi Restorer and a natural DYI-er. Her IG is @modernkintsugirepairpdx.
